What is aesthetic medicine?
According to the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, Aesthetic medicine comprises of all medical procedures that are aimed at improving the physical appearance and satisfaction of the patient, using non-invasive to minimally invasive cosmetic procedures.
Patients don't just want to FEEL good and be in good health, they also want to LOOK their best. There's undoubtedly also a shift towards minimally invasive ways to achieve this goal as most patients can't afford serious downtime. This has led to the explosion of this field of medicine. More and more companies are investing in finding new and safe ways to achieve this goal. It is a continually evolving science.
The type of care given is also different from regular medical fields. All these treatments are elective and allow the practitioner and patient to build a unique relationship since much time is spent on understanding the needs of the patient, their motivation for wanting to treat and what would be in the best interest of the specific patient. It should not be "one size fits all" approach. It has led to many clinics rather referring to their patients as "clients" as they are not booking appointments due to being "ill".
Also, most of the treatments require touch-ups in future to maintain a healthy look, which leads to a strong relationship component between doctor, patient and medical therapist.
The worst clinic is the one that exploits their patients' wallets.
We believe that a client should be comfortable enough to share their needs and fears without the risk of being afraid of financial exploitation
